Lyford Cay Club

As one of the world’s most sought-after destinations, The Bahamas has always attracted the rich and famous. Many celebrities own luxury properties in the Bahamas or even private islands, where they can enjoy the luxurious Bahamas lifestyle in privacy.

Luxury property specialist Engel & Völkers Bahamas highlights some of the celebrities who have homes in the area and what they think of living in the Bahamas.

Singer: Lenny Kravitz

House and recording studio on Eleuthera

As a child, Lenny Kravitz visited Nassau each summer. That continued into adulthood, but by then the rock star had discovered Eleuthera in the Out Islands/Family Islands. He arrived after midnight and when he woke up the next morning, he realised he had arrived home – and has never left. “When you go to a family island, you’re going into a whole other world…you’re going deeper, getting the real character of the Bahamas. That is the real cultural experience. I feel like my most authentic self here. Everything makes sense. It’s where my mother’s family is from, and I’ve called it home for a while. There’s a connection to my roots and a community that I am part of. I can be me.” Source

Every time we land the plane and walk onto the beach and head up to the house, we turn to each other and say, ‘This is the best place in the world.” Source
