The untouched beauty…

Cat Island is known for its homegrown, rose pink, sandy shorelines, and warmer Bahamian summers. The natural beauty and potent visual story in itself, hardly touched by the way of the world, as much of the island remains preserved with countless caves, sharp cliffs, museums engravings, sculptures, and ruins from the old plantation.

Famous pastimes here include hikes up Como Hill; passageway to Mt Alvernia drifts through the many freshwater lakes, dips its many pools, or the perfect swim at Cat Island’s whimsical beaches. There is nothing quite like spending the day catching your meal for the evening, reeling in mounds of the freshest, meatiest fish for consumption from the ocean to the table or enjoying delicious stuffed crab and lobster dishes. Be sure to ask for the white crabs if you’re looking for lots of meat and the black ones if you are a lover of flavor. Those that enjoy a good book, grab a read in the local library.

What to do…

One may opt to travel to Conception Island just south of the mainland or visit the large creeks full of turtles, fish, and conch, however, there are pathways for therapeutic walks in this uninhabited natural reserve also with a cool freshwater well. There are snorkeling and deep-sea diving at your disposal. There are several hotels and resorts which provide mouthwatering breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
